What a fabulous contest. The two contenders gave everything they had to keep it a stiff duel till the end - there was not any single moment in the match, when anyone was sure about the outcome or winner. Both contenders pushed each other to the limits, but it was home-favourite Andy Roddick who prevailed at last by keeping things simple and sticking to age old tactics of tightening up the screw, at the right time. Soderling played really well and saved many match points, but faltered at the crucial juncture, but the Swede fought till the end and forced Andy to use his every ounce of energy to win this exciting duel.
