Finally, Marcos Daniel decided not to continue, as he looked completely out-of-sorts and unfit. The Brazilian decided to retire and gave walkover to Nadal to the next round. A sad end to an anticipated game, but good for both, as Daniel was looking nowhere near Nadal and the more, he was dragging, more it was embarrasing for him.
