When it looked so good for Nalbandian, he played so well over the course of the tournament, coming through 3 tough three setters and then winning the first set here in the final today, his temperament came into question once more as he literally kicked away the title. In set 2, Nalbandian had broken Cilic back after being broken in the very first game. The Croat responded well and broke Nalbandian back in set in the very next game to lead 4-3. This is when the Argentine lost his cool and kicked the box in front of the line judge which went into his leg severely injuring the official. This led the match referee to default Nalbandian as the Cilic claimed his first title of the year.
