Philipp Kohlschreiber

World No. 1 Novak Djokovic put up a display of exquisite shot-making as he outwit World No. 22 Philipp Kohlschreiber to book a spot in the quarterfinals of the US Open. The Serbian never looked in trouble as he was the one who was quick off the blocks to bag the opening set in just 25 minutes. In the second set, the German tried hard but failed to match the in-form Djokovic in the grueling baseline exchanges . The 2011 champion continued the trend in the third set as well as he completed an easy win on the day in just under two hours.

Caroline Wozniacki

Red-hot Wozniacki too good for Sharapova - For the second time in as many Grand Slams, reigning French Open champion Maria Sharapova fell in the fourth round, this time to the in-form Caroline Wozniacki of Denmark here in New York. The 10th seed showed her full repertoire inside Arthur Ashe today as she came up with her signature flicked lobs, unbelievable defensive gets, extraordinary scrambling from the back court, delicate and accurate volleys at the net and on a few occasions a few aces as well to accomplish her first win over the Russian since 2011.
